"Darrell Lewis and his company, Lewis Built, have been doing jobs for us for over 20 years. In 2003 he replaced 3 large windows in our summer home in Pilot Point that had developed leaks before we purchased the property. Years later when we bought our full-time home on Savannah Road, he once again did important work for us. He designed and permitted and built a 100 ft by 8 ft tall wooden fence designed to blend exactly with a neighbor's adjoining fence. This included burying the main support posts in concrete, hanging very heavy 8 and 10 ft wide gates, incorporating solar lights on the gates and building smaller gates with copper caps. When someone crashed a car into our garage his team quickly repaired the foundation, garage door and siding. He replaced a front porch floor that had rotted adding new steps and railings with decorative balls and stretchers. Finally, he recently designed an elevator installation. This included design and permitting and extensive coordination with sub-contractors. This complicated job included turning an existing stairway, boxing in an area for the elevator cab to travel to on the first and second floor, pouring new footings and supporting the floor, coordination with a structural design company and electrical contractor, and performing a myriad of finish work to make our home look as if "no work had ever been done and the elevator had always been there".
